2. Information we handle

This website has no user accounts, online purchases, newsletter subscription or contact forms. It does not contain advertising or analytics scripts.

When you visit, Cloudflare, our website hosting and security provider, may process technical information including your IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, request times and security information needed to serve and protect the site.

If you email us, we process the contact details, message content and subsequent correspondence you choose to provide. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive personal or confidential commercial information in an initial email.

3. Why we use information

We process relevant information to provide and secure the website, respond to enquiries, evaluate potential business discussions, maintain correspondence, meet legal obligations and protect legitimate rights and interests. Processing is limited to what is appropriate for those purposes and the applicable grounds permitted by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Sending an enquiry is voluntary, but we need a usable reply address and sufficient context to respond. We do not sell personal information or use website visitor data for behavioural advertising or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant consequences.

4. Service providers and international processing

We use Cloudflare for DNS, website hosting, content delivery and security. Cloudflare's infrastructure and service providers may process technical data outside South Africa. International handling of personal information is subject to applicable safeguards and section 72 of POPIA.

Business email is handled by Caldemere's email infrastructure and the network providers required to deliver email. Information may be shared with relevant professional advisers, service providers or authorities when reasonably necessary or legally required.

5. Cookies and analytics

The website itself does not set marketing or analytics cookies and does not include third-party analytics or embedded advertising. Depending on the Cloudflare security features applied to a particular visit, Cloudflare may set technical cookies to detect automated traffic, manage challenges or maintain security.

If we introduce optional analytics, marketing tools or new external services, we will review this notice and any consent requirements first.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. We retain business correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, relationship, applicable legal obligations or protection of rights. Technical information handled by Cloudflare is subject to the relevant service and retention settings. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and complaints

Subject to POPIA, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for correction or deletion, object to certain processing or withdraw consent where relevant. We may request appropriate identity verification before responding.

Contact us at heinrich@caldemere.com to make a request or raise a concern. You may also contact the Information Regulator (South Africa), including at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

8. Updates

We may update this notice if our services, providers or information-handling practices change. The current version and revision date will appear here.
